Still working, just not taking pictures

I've been working on a couple of projects, though not as many as I would like. :) One is a birthday card for my best friend, and so I can't post that picture until she gets it. I can't ruin the surprise after all! There are a few other cards too, I just have to get off my bumpkiss and take the pictures. I know, such a problem. lol

The other project was a Post-It Note holder, which is at my desk at work. I haven't taken a picture of it yet, but I'll try taking a picture with my cell phone and see if I can post it here.

I'm working on placing a SU order which I will hopefully place tomorrow (pay day!). Hurray, new toys to play with! Glassy Glaze enamel powder for one...I want to try out the Cracked Glass technique - it would look great on a winter-themed card. I'm also going to try some 3-d projects (boxes, candle stamping, photo frames, etc.) to get ready for some holiday demos. If anyone in the Wayne & surrounding areas is interested in hosting an event, I have some great ideas up my sleeve that your friends would love!

And I even changed the layout of my blog...I wanted some more color, and add a few things. One of these days I'll learn how to change the banner and other things to really make it look cute, but this works for now. :) I even figured out how to add the link to the SU catalogue. Technical genius I tell you.

Trio of Blossoms card

I was playing with my new cache of Stampin Up supplies and this was what I came up with. It measures 6 x 3 inches. I couldn't decide on a sentiment so I didn't put one...it could easily be a "Happy Birthday", "get Well Soon", or anything cheery!

Supplies used: Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss, Whisper White cardstock. Always stamp set. Kiwi Kiss and VersaMark stamp pads. Heat & Stick Powder and Cosmo Fine Glitter. Stampin Dimensionals and Scallop Edge Punch.

Paper Swatches

Ok, last post of the morning...Here is the other thing that I have been working on. I found this idea on another Stampin' Up demonstators site and thought it was great! I used the scallop circle punch to punch out a sample of every color cardstock, wrote the name of the color as well as the color family it belongs to and then used my Crop-a-dile to punch a hole in them. I then used a leftover ball-chain to connect them (thank you Mom for saving odd things like old keychains!). I now have a great, portable swatch book that I can use to decide on color combinations for a project, without having to take out full sheets of paper every time.

Note: I have seen that other people have used the Color Labels in the Catalogue for the names, rather than writing them out by hand. Definitely an option.

Some other things

I've been trying to organize my craft space and thought I would show you what I have done.
It's a small table, but trust me, I can cover it with lots of junk without much effort! :) I put a 3-drawer caddy on the table which holds some of the most used supplies (dry adhesives, glitter/embossing powders & ribbon. On top of that is a small container which is like a "crash kit" - I keep all of the "must haves" in there (black stamp pad, VersaMark pad, ruler, pencil, black fine tip pen, SNAIL adhesive runner, etc). It also keeps these things out of sight from the kids so they down't get into anything they shouldn't while allowing me to keep them accessible. I also keep my Stampin Up markers and paper cutter on the table (thought his will often be put higher since my son loves to cut paper with it, and he will cut any paper he can get hold of - including projects!) My Stampin Up idea book & catalogue is also on the table so I can get ideas and work on the ever-growing Wish List!
Other things still need organizing, like the scrapbooking paper on the right corner (mostly 12x12). There are also some pictures in the pile that I am trying to scrap, but I am having a bit of a scrapbooking block right now. I also have a small stack of stamps that were used in recent projects and just need to go into the cabinet with the others.

As you can see, I have one other accessory that is regularly on my table - one or both cats! Jewel (pictured here) is much more demanding of my attention when she jumps up...she sprawls all over the table and covers whatever I am working on, sometimes knocking items off that get in the way of the full cat stretch. Sigh. :)

Busy, Busy

I haven't posted in a while now, but I've actually been keeping busy. Even with work, kids, hubby and all of the other things that happen in a given day I have had a chance to make few cards. All of them measure 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inches. Ribbons are from Joanne's, all other supplies are Stampin up!.
